REINVENTING GEMSTONES
At Adorato we take sentimental gemstones and set them into new jewellery pieces to better suit your style.At Adorato we offer a very special service in which we take gemstones that have been inherited, or have sentimental value and we create bespoke new pieces for them to be set into.
What types of gemstones to people get reinvented?
- Inherited jewellery that has sentimental value but the piece itself isn’t of any value (ie plated), or the customer can only wear precious metals and the customer would like to set the stone into a precious metal setting.
- Unwanted engagement rings to remodel & symbolise a fresh start.
- Family jewellery with stones to divide among siblings.
- Old engagement rings that were purchased when the couple’s budget were tight are brought in for an ‘upgrade’ by setting into a higher grade metal, or adding new precious stones to accompany the sentimental stone.
Example of gemstone reinvention-
Our customer had an emerald ring that was a family heirloom but the ring shank was broke and bent, and the customer only wore gold jewellery.
She requested removing the emerald and setting it into a gold design that she had chose from our inspiration gallery.
This involved us supplying the gold and extra stones, and the custom had the silver ring returned to her, and the emerald set in new design.

Our customer had a tiger’s eye ring which she had lots of sentimental value but the ring was plated (and the customer could only wear precious metals), and the frame of the ring was bent and mis-shaped.
The customer requested that I re-shape the stone and set into an East to West rub over setting in Sterling Silver 925.
She can now where this ring every day.
